Training for Raid 17 - Portugal

Published Monday, 13th March 2017

A strong and confident team have returned home from Portugal where they spent a week training for Raid 17.

It was the first time that many of them had met, but friendships developed quickly and strong bonds were formed.

The steep hills were challenging and the long days covering distances of up to 125km were physically demanding, providing essential preparation for the 720km coast-to-coast route along some of the toughest roads in the Pyrenees which the team will attempt in September 2017.

A few wasp stings, an injured hand and a broken arm reminded them all that road cycling is a potentially dangerous game!

Raid 17 will be a true demonstration of 'rehabilitation through adventure' and once again prove there is life beyond injury.
