The Raid 17 Team: Day 6

Published Friday, 29th September 2017

A cold but beautiful morning greeted the team as they prepared to set off on the penultimate day of their epic coast-to-coast challenge.

The climb to the top of the first Col began gently but the long winding road soon grew steeper, and a biting cold wind made it even more challenging.

The riders emerged from the mist at the top of Col d'Agnes to enjoy stunning views before quickly descending and continuing on to the next unrelenting Col.

A small cafe at the designated lunch stop provided some warmth and respite from the bone-chilling wind where the team refuelled and changed for the final hard push along the main France to Andorra road and into Ax-les-Thermes.

The team cycled a huge 118km with a height gain of 7,851ft in some freezing and at times, treacherous conditions.

They arrived at their final destination for the day tired but elated by their efforts!
