The Leader '18 Team Set Sail...

Published Sunday, 29th April 2018

A team of wounded, injured and sick veterans embarked on a sailing endeavour aboard 'The Leader', a Brixham trawler built in 1892. Despite grey skies and the threat of rain, the team were in very high spirits as they climbed aboard this beautiful sailing vessel which will be their home for the next 6 days.

The team enjoyed a hearty lunch followed by a safety briefing before setting sail into a relatively flat sea with just a gentle breeze to ease them in to their adventure. The group is varied with its members coming from very different Service backgrounds and carrying a variety of disabilities ranging from visual impairment, mental health issues and physical injuries.

The team will head west to Plymouth. If you are in the area and happen to spot them please feel free to say hello and give them some support! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all our Sponsors, Supporters and everyone who has made this project possible.
