Team EVEREST 2019: Push to Camp 3

Published Thursday, 9th May 2019

Rich, Brendan, Joe, Scott and Tom were up at 5am this morning for their push from Camp 2 to Camp 3.

They battled strong winds, wind chill temperatures as low as -30ºC, and the sheer blue ice of the Lhotse Face.

Their determination paid off when 5 hours later they reached Camp 3, which at close to 7300m / 24000ft is the highest any of the team have ever climbed!

Despite the heavy snowfall, strong winds, split rotations due to delays, altitude sickness and illness, the team have remained focused, and against the odds finally reached Camp 3 together.

Team morale has remained high throughout and they will return to Base Camp tomorrow confident that all they need to do now is rest, recharge, and wait for the perfect weather window to present itself for the summit bid!

The team are undertaking this extreme challenge to raise funds for The Royal Marines Charity, who exist to help the entire Royal Marines family, and have helped make this project possible through providing grants to our injured guys.

Please help us give back, and continue to make projects like this possible, by donating to our JustGiving Page >> https://www.justgiving.com/65DN

No donation is too small and a HUGE thank you to all who have already donated!
