Raid 17 Team: Day 5

Published Friday, 29th September 2017

Despite the rain and a few aches and pains the team set off with huge smiles on their faces and a strong determination to continue their epic adventure together.

The relatively short 80km distance from Luchon to St Giron took the team through the beautiful misty mountains as they approached Col des Ares which was a rare and relatively gentle climb!

They arrived at a clearing for lunch where they refuelled and sorted their kit for the remainder of the journey.

The team stopped to pay their respects at the monument which commemorates the death of Fabio Casartelli, one of only a small number of people who have lost their lives while competing in the Tour de France.

The team arrived at their final destination of the day in the pouring rain but in very high spirits!
