JOGLE: World Record Attempt ~ MISSION COMPLETE!!!

Published Monday, 8th July 2019

At 00:05:10 on 8th July 2019 double amputee Michael Swain MBE set a new WORLD RECORD!!

Setting off from John O'Groats at 06:09:30 on Thursday 4th July, Michael cycled the entire length of the UK and arrived at Land's End 89 hours, 55 minutes and 40 seconds later!

Having lost both his legs in 2009 as a result of an improvised Explosive Device (IED) whilst serving for 3rd Battalion, The Rifles Regiment, Michael was determined to show that there is life beyond injury and anything is possible!

His main reason for taking on this epic challenge was to raise money for 65 Degrees North and Blesma, The Limbless Veterans:

"Both of these incredible organisations have made a huge difference to me, and many of my fellow wounded comrades, helping us to crack on and live active, meaningful and fulfilled lives.”

If anyone would like to donate to Michael's JustGiving Page please follow this link >>https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/michael-swain4

We are absolutely delighted that Michael has achieved his aim to set a new World Record by completing JOGLE in under 4 days on a hand bike!

A HUGE thank you to all the sponsors for helping make this project possible, and to everyone who has supported, and followed this journey throughout!

A massive congratulations to the support team too who have enabled Michael to complete this outstanding achievement!
