An Invitation to Swansea University Bay Campus

Published Friday, 12th May 2017

The team were delighted to receive an invitation from Prof. Gareth Stratton, Head of School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, to be Guest Speakers at the formal launch at Swansea University Bay Campus. The collaboration between 65 Degrees North and Swansea University began in 2014 when leading researchers and sports science experts helped the team prepare for the 600km World First record attempt across the Greenland ice-cap.

The continued support that Swansea University provides has been pivotal to the success of our endeavours, preparing the teams for the physical and psychological challenges, and directly enhancing the capability of team members embarking on our expeditions.

It was a privilege to see the top class teaching and research facilities at the Bay Campus and hear how the cutting edge research has a positive impact on real-life problems. We look forward to returning very soon when the Raid 17 team will be put through their paces and tested in preparation for the 720km coast-to-coast Pyrenees bike ride!
