65 Degrees North is delighted and proud to announce that both Al Hewett and Aston Woodward (pictured left) will be joining the the charity as trustees.

The pair bring decades of forces experience to the organisation.

65 Degrees North CEO Rich Morgan MBE said it was a pleasure to welcome both to the charity’s board.

“Both Al and Aston bring strong qualities of leadership, vision and end energy from different sectors. They understand the ethos of 65 Degrees North,” he said.

“They have achieved excellence in their respective fields and I welcome them on board as trustees.”

Al Hewett (pictured below), spent 25 years in UK Defence (Royal Marines) and experienced multiple operational tours around the world.

“I would like to say how incredibly grateful I am that 65 Degrees North placed their trust and support in allowing me to be a greater part of this wonderful organisation,” he admitted.

“Through my many years of service, I have found myself at the forefront of countless years of conflict, witnessed incredibly brave and incredibly horrifying experiences; and it is through these experiences that I have witnessed 65DN bridge some of the gaps through the rehabilitation of humans both mentally and physically.

“Having been on the periphery of the charity for some years, I have always been in admiration with the humility of those leading this incredible organisation, the lengths that they go to (often with busy lives) to help others re-build theirs and in bringing the opportunity of adventure, in the hope that it brings closure or support to others in an environment that also brings challenge.”

Aston joined the Royal Marines in 1999 and served as an officer in the Royal Marines Reserve. He subsequently joined 40 Commando Royal Marines where he deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Herrick 7 as well as Sierra Leone, and expeditions to Alaska, Botswana finally reaching the rank of Major.

Aston is the co-founder of Oxygen Asset Management based in the City of London. Oxygen is a commercial real estate asset manager currently managing over £3BN of assets, with a focus on Central London offices.

Aston, who lives just outside Sevenoaks in Kent with his wife and three children, is also a director of other property companies.

He is well positioned to facilitate connections that enable sponsorship opportunities in combination with his experience of ‘Charitable Governance’ all whilst understanding the ethos of the charity and is passionate about what it can deliver.
