World’s first unsupported crossing of the Greenland ice cap by an amputee

'Day 9.....Horrendous Storm Conditions'

‘Day 9…..Horrendous Storm Conditions’

High snowfall and temperatures of up to -25°C forced Peter and the team to take an unscheduled rest day on Day 9 of their epic trek across the Greenland Ice Cap.

They built a wall around the tents for extra protection from the horrendous storm conditions and had to dig themselves out hourly.

This enforced break has given Peter’s blisters time to improve a little and the team morale is good.

It is reassuring for everyone that, even in these extreme conditions, the Ice Team can continue to update the Support Team using the IsatPhone 2 provided by Inmarsat.
