World’s first unsupported crossing of the Greenland ice cap by an amputee

'Day 26... Nothing Was Going To Stop Them!'

‘Day 26… Nothing Was Going To Stop Them!’

On Day 26 Peter had a huge 45km standing between him and the World First Record!

A helicopter had been booked for 7am the following morning and there would be a 2 day wait for another one if they failed to make this deadline.

‘On Ice’ Team Doctor Meinir took charge of Peter’s pain relief and constant alterations were made to his prosthetic limb to prevent further damage or injury to his stump.

Driven by Peter’s absolute determination to complete this epic trek the team skied throughout the day and night, negotiating the difficult terrain.

Finally the rocky landscape appeared in the distance on the horizon.
The end point was in sight and nothing was going to stop them…..
